What is the Grail Message
What is the Grail Message?
The Grail Message: In the Light of Truth mediates to the serious seeker who is willing to examine objectively, paths to the recognition of God, the world and to self-knowledge. The source of this message is the Grail.
As its title suggests, the Grail is an intrinsic topic in the work. In contrast to myths, legends and works of art, the Grail is described clearly as really existing at the summit of Creation – a focal point of transmission of the pulse of life-sustaining power from the Divine into circulation in all Creation.
In Abd-ru-shin's (Oskar Ernst Bernhardt, 1875-1941) main work In the Light of Truth - The Grail Message, the images of a longing for certainty and the visions that are embraced in traditional myths and legends are clarified about the reality and the special spiritual significance of the Grail.
It exists as a 'gateway' for the divine will, divine love, power and grace, which the Creator dispenses to His work of Creation. Also the act of love of Jesus, his mission and incarnation to proclaim the pure Word of God happened by means of the Grail.
The three volumes of In the Light of Truth - The Grail Message contain 168 lectures, which appeared between 1923 and 1938, and which Abd-ru-shin combined in such a way that they build upon each other, thereby forming a complete picture of Creation. The logical presentation of the material serves to facilitate the reader’s comprehension, and the author asks specifically in the Foreword to the Grail Message that one must be 'able and willing to examine this matter objectively'.
The reader will find guidance for the problems and questions that we all encounter in life, such as: What is the meaning of life? Where do we come from? Where do we go when we die? What about fate and karma, Divine justice, free will, the Mission of Jesus, the Son of God, the Laws of Nature and Creation, and many others. The more earnestly the reader uses the experience of everyday life as the criterion for examining the explanations given in the Grail Message, the more truth shines from it. In this sense the title In the Light of Truth is clarified.
Abd-ru-shin says in the Grail Message that he does not bring a new religion. Nevertheless, many of his lectures deal with basic religious questions. His explanations throw new, persuasive light on 'matters of faith', and open the way to logically grasping the inner connections. They simply mediate 'help for self-help' in solving problems in everyday life, whether in partnership, family or society. In the picture of Creation according to the Grail Message, God is the source and origin of all power and all there is. As a creature of God, the human being can only begin to recognize his Maker; he cannot “understand” or explain Divinity.
The comprehensive description given of the structure of Creation, from the Divine down to the earthly, gives the reader a clear view of “heaven and earth,” where human beings fit in, and what is the true nature of being human. Abd-ru-shin gives in his message detailed explanations of the cosmic laws, in other words the Laws of Creation. These were woven immutably from the very beginning, and they bear - just as the 'Ten Commandments' - the love, mercy and justice of the Creator. Getting to know and understand their mode of action is vital in every aspect.

The Grail Message takes a stand on many important questions of life. To name a few: Mission and 'expiatory death of atonement' of Jesus, the Son of God, fate, karma and reincarnation; the Fall and original sin, the unity of of this world and the beyond, the Apocalypse and the Last Judgement, family, marriage and sexuality; the Law of Creation and human law; the Ten Commandments; the grace and love of the Creator; What is faith?; the Son of God and the Son of Man; death, body, soul, spirit; and many other topics.
